AMT 1968 Camaro
Z28 car kit.
This
was a good build without any problems. The emblems are faint
so I sanded them off since paint would probably cover them
over anyway.
The
kit includes two sets of rims. The Rallys show above as
stock, and an extra set of "Cragar" type wheels.
However, those wheels are not plated so you woud have to
paint them youself.
I
specifically chose this model because it includes a suercharger
/ bower setup, and an extra hood with the hole already in
it.
I
did swap out the front seats for a set of modern performance
seats. Everything else is straight from the box.
For
paint, the first coat is Tamiya AS19 as a base, then TS19
Metallic Blue over that. Then Testors Transparent Blue 1257.
No primer was involved on this build.
I
would have preferred Tamiya Transparent Blue, but I didn't
have any on hand, so I had to use the Testors, which is
enamel, so you have to watch out for orange peel.
