Revell's
FOOSE Ford Pickup Truck Model Kit
FOOSE Roush V8 Ford Pickup
The
FOOSE Ford FD100 pickup truck model is an all new tooling.
A couple of years ago Revell had a short list of kit ideas
and had people vote to choose which kits they would most
likely want to see.
This
truck, and the FOOSE cadillac, were the winners. in 2017
Revell produced both kits, and both have become very popular.
This
kit is an all new tooling, and has nothing in common with
prevous Revell or Monogram trucks of this body style.
The
real FOOSE truck had been heavily modified body wise and
this kit reflects all those changes. It also has an excellent
Jack Roush V8 engine.

Above
is the V8 engine, dual exhaust, radiator,
disc
brakes (very nicely engraved!), the two
inner
door panels, headers, and dual exhaust.
The
decal sheet includes the wood bed accents, as well
as
an extra FOOSE art work decal.
Taillights
are molded in red, and the FOOSE wheels
and
other parts are chrome plated.

Here
is the tree with the clear parts. Nice rubber tires
are
included. The rear metal axle slips into the traditional
differential
housing, while the front metal axle
slips
into a very tiny hole in the oil pan. The metal
axle
is partially hidden by the front suspension.

Nicely
detailed ladder frame with brake booster.
Traction
links for the rear axle, front rack & pinion,
sway
bar. As well as coil-over shocks
in
the rear.
.

Here
I've removed the parts from the trees.
The
upper roof panel is a separate part, I'm guessing
because
it's easier and better to mold it that way.
The
parts have a perfect drip molding around them, but
there
is a fine line seam on the back of the cab
where
it meets the separate roof panel.
This
can also help when painting, if you want to paint the roof
white
rather than the body color, which was a popular trend.
Revell
does a similiar roof panel on their 1960s Chevy trucks.
The
engraving is pretty good on the dash board and
seat,
as well as all the other parts.
There
are two small holes in the firewall for the hood hinges,
and
the two hinges are separate parts. If you don't plan
on
playing with the hood later, you may want to
fill
those holes, and not use the hinges.
The
model can't be built "factory stock", as it's based
on a
real
truck that was heavily customized. But if you want
a
custom truck you can have fun with any way you want to,
this
is a great choice. The Roush engine is an added plus,
and
I suspect it will find itself in many other kits that
modelers
build.
