These
are large scale models of Russian / Soviet ships.
The
Soviet Union has a long history of having an engaging navy and
sometimes it rivals our own in the U.S.
They
have a wide range of diverse ships for different jobs. But still
make the traditional battleships, cruisers, and destroyers like
many other countries.
These
1:350 and larger model kits vary from older ships (some even pre-WWI)
to the more modern ships in their current fleets.
Many
times it's been discussed what color the decks of the ships should
be. Photos show a wide range of colors, from red and brown, to
green and gray.
Their
navy personel often say that the color depends on what color was
available at the time. In some rare instances, the deck could
even be two different colors - because they ran out of the paint
for the first color!
I
like to believe this is true since the Russian people always seem
to be very practical in nature - it makes sense.
However,
what color you paint the deck of your ship model is up to you.
By
building a Russian ship model you will definately have an interesting
kit to show off!
