parts in his early days), and the patterns he paints on
them are his own (in fact, he used to use Schwinn
bicycle paint and tape to create his designs, namely his
famous "Frankenstein" pattern).
the article I read, the reason he said he uses that paint
is, "...the more you sand it the shinier it gets".
has duplicated such patterns subtlety on the sides of the
truck, and the kit does so with decals. Two original trucks
were built. This one, and another one without the custom
mods (more or less stock), but had the VH pattern painted
all over the truck, end to end. That truck was a giveaway
in a contest.
without the famous tie-in, the kit itself is a good representation
of these style Chevy trucks. The tires and wheels are exceptional.
This kit has very good detail. It's hard to believe it does
not get reissued more often.
