Asked Questions = FAQs
How long has Rocketfin been online?
about 1997. Back then the name was different, and under a different
domain. Once Rocketfin was set up online and "official",
it's been going on since then till today. With that said, 2017
will be the 20th year anniversary. I'm looking foward to that.
Do you actually build models too?
do. I've been modelling since about 1969-1970. Some older
ones are in the gallery, newer models I've built are in my
books and magazines.
I've built 100s of models in my lifetime, but I don't have pictures
of all of them unfortunately.
Rocketfin on Facebook or Twitter?
at this time. I prefer to answer questions from visitors via email
and give them one on one attention. Rocketfin used to be on "Hatebook",
but it's become so mired in negativity, I no longer use it. It's
depressing. Modeling is much more fun.
sounds interesting, but statistics say only abut 30% of people
actually read the tweets they get, so that doesn't seem helpful
for Rocketfin, and it sounds like folks don't really like getting
barraged with Tweets, so it's not being used at this time.
is on Pinterest
however. That is a great place to store modelling images for reference,
and ideas for model projects and painting. There are thousands
of images on there, and over 80,000+ followers. Pinterest can
be very useful to modelers!
I saw a resin kit in your database, how do I order it?
Resin Database is just
that, a database for research and reference on resin car and truck
models from various companies.
resin listing web page has information on how / or where to order
it. Sometimes there are cases where that information is not known,
or a company is out of business. In cases like that, you will
want to check with companies such as eBay or vendors at model
shows, who many times have older and collectible resin kits for
sale. Even if they are no longer produced.
in the Resin Database are not available for purchase fom Rocketfin
Hobbies or this website. It's just a database of information and
reference for modelers.
How do I order the plastic model kits I see on the Rocketfin website?
ordering by the various links is the only way to order. It's fast,
easy, and facilitated through Amazon.
