These are acrylic eyedropper paints. These are true acrylics, meaning they can be washed up with water and be thinned with water. There are several companies that make acrylic paints, one of the most popular being Vallejo.

Vallejo acrylic paints dry with a matte finish - unless specified otherwise.

Vallejo Air Paints are ready mixed to be used with an airbrush. You can use them right out of the bottle. (though you can thin them if needed for any reason). You can use them with a brush if needed as well (I do sometimes when I need that color for a project). But they are designed primarily for airbrush use.

Vallejo offers several types of Air paints. You can of course use the various colors on any model project.

These acrylic paints make a thin coverage and are made from extremely fine pigment. It's always a good idea to shoot a layer of finish (matte, satin, or gloss) over the model because the paint can easily rub off, just with simple handling. Sealing the paint with an overcoat layer can help prevent this.

If you plan on thinning the paints with water, it should be Distilled water. You can get a gallon of distilled water at a grocery store for around $ 1.00. It's very inexpensive. The jug will say Distilled right on it. You want to use a water with NO chemicals or minerals in it. Those can contaminate the paint. Normal tap water includes those and rust so it's best to avoid using using that.

Vallejo Game Air Paints

Game Air Matt acrylic water-based colors are especially formulated for airbrushing. Game Air paints can be used directly or diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and Flow Improver. It is recommended to apply the colors in several layers on a previously primed surface. Game Air is not flammable, and does not contain solvents.

Vallejo Model Air Paints

Model Air Paints are Acrylic colors developed especially for airbrush techniques, in a formula with very finely ground pigments and an acrylic resin with properties of extreme resistance and durability.

These colors are more for military models (air, land, sea) but of course can be used on any model project you build.

Vallejo Mecha Color Air

These are colors primarily developed for Mecha models (Macross, Gundam, Robots, Transformers, etc). However they can be used on an kind of model project. Feature a satin finish and are extra resisitant and impact proof.

These are airbrush ready paints. However, they can be used with a brush if needed, but they are thin paints made of very fine particles, so keep that in mind - you may need more than one coat when using a paint brush.

Vallejo Colorshift

These are airbrush ready metallic paints. So far they are only available in sets. As with all Vallejo paints they are a waterbased acrylic. You apply them in thin coats. Vallejo recomends over a glass black base color.

These are color-shifting "Chameleon" type paints. Each flake presents a variety of color depending on the angle of view and incident light. Each set includes 6 colors.

The box art suggests a scifi application for the paints, but they can be used on any model subject, including cars where these are known as "flip-flop" colors.

Vallejo Metal Color Paints

Metal Color is an innovative range of metallic colors formulated with aluminium pigments in a water-based formula. Metal Color can be applied directly to the model with an airbrush, or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver, dries very rapidly and forms a self-leveling and homogenous paint film of extraordinary resistance while preserving even the smallest detail of the model.
